Planning a visit to PLADEN in Seoul?

It's natural to have questions. At PLADEN, we believe in full transparency — we want you to feel completely informed before you even step into our clinic.

Below are the answers to the most common questions our international patients ask.

1. Booking & Consultation

Do I need to speak Korean to visit PLADEN?

Not at all. We have dedicated English-speaking coordinators who will assist you from your first inquiry through to your post-treatment care. You will have full support during your 1:1 consultation with our doctors to ensure every concern is understood.

Can I just walk in, or do I need an appointment?

We operate on a strict reservation basis. This allows our doctors to dedicate ample, unhurried time to each patient. We highly recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance, especially if you have specific travel dates.

Can I get a consultation and treatment on the same day?

Yes. Most of our international patients opt for a same-day consultation and treatment to make the most of their Seoul trip. When booking, let us know your areas of interest so we can reserve enough time for both.

How do I book from overseas?

2. Treatments & Downtime

What exactly is Ppokki Shot (fat dissolving injection)?

PLADEN's 3rd-generation fat dissolving formula uses targeted lipolysis to permanently destroy fat cell membranes in specific areas. The body's lymphatic system then naturally clears the released fatty acids over 2–4 weeks. Unlike weight loss drugs, it works precisely on the area you choose — chin, flanks, inner thighs, and more.

Is Ppokki Shot painful?

Most patients rate discomfort at 2–3 out of 10. We apply topical numbing cream prior to every treatment and use ultra-fine needles. The procedure takes approximately 10 minutes from start to finish.

Will there be any downtime? Can I go out right after?

Fat dissolving has no required downtime — you can return to daily activities the same day. Here's a general guide by treatment:

Ppokki Shot: Same-day return. Mild swelling may appear for 1–3 days.
Pain-Free Rejuran: Small bumps (embossing) and slight redness, typically subsiding within 1–3 days.
Pain-Free Rituo: Minimal redness. Most patients apply makeup and go out immediately.

How many sessions do I need?

The standard protocol is 3–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Most patients see visible change after session 2. Our doctors will assess your target area at consultation and give a personalised recommendation.

Can I get Ppokki Shot while still on Wegovy or Mounjaro?

Yes. The two treatments work through entirely different mechanisms and can be safely combined. Many PLADEN patients continue their GLP-1 medication while completing a sculpting protocol for specific areas that haven't responded to overall weight loss.

3. Pricing & Payment

Do you provide tax refunds for international visitors?

Yes. PLADEN is a certified medical tourism provider. Eligible international visitors can receive a VAT refund (approximately 7–9%) upon departure at the airport. Please bring your physical passport on the day of your treatment to receive the tax refund receipt.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Korean Won (KRW) in cash, as well as major international credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express. Please note that your bank may charge a foreign transaction fee.

Are prices the same for foreigners and locals?

Absolutely. We practice 100% transparent pricing. The price you see during consultation is the same price local patients pay — no hidden fees, no foreigner surcharges.

Where is PLADEN located?

We are located at 4F, ICT Tower, 624 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The nearest station is Sinsa Station (Line 3 & Shinbundang Line), Exit 6 — a 1-minute walk.

What are your opening hours?

Our clinic is open the following hours:

How far in advance should I book if I'm travelling from abroad?

We recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks before your travel dates, particularly for peak seasons (spring and autumn). Same-week appointments may be available but are not guaranteed

When should I remove the tape applied after my treatment? You may remove the tape 1–2 hours after your procedure. For filler treatments, we recommend keeping it on until the following day. When can I drink alcohol or smoke? Please refrain from drinking and smoking on the day of your treatment. For filler and Botox procedures, we recommend avoiding alcohol and tobacco for at least one week. Can I exercise or visit a sauna? We recommend avoiding saunas, steam rooms, swimming, and massages for one week following your treatment. When will the swelling go down, and when will I see results? Swelling typically begins to subside around 4 hours after treatment and mostly resolves within 24 hours. Visible results usually appear 1–2 weeks after the procedure.

Can I wash my face or apply makeup right after? You may cleanse and apply makeup from 4 hours after treatment. Please leave the tape on the treated area until the next day. Are there any area-specific precautions I should follow? Yes. Please observe the following guidelines for one month after treatment: Forehead: Avoid wearing hats or caps. Nose: Avoid wearing glasses or sunglasses. Chin / Cheeks: Avoid pressing or applying strong pressure to the treated area.

Botox Treatments

Do aftercare instructions differ depending on the treatment area? Yes. Here are the key precautions by area: Jaw (Masseter): Avoid hard or chewy foods for one week after treatment. Wrinkles: Do not lie down for 3–4 hours after treatment. Calves: Avoid intense exercise and high heels for one week. When will I start to see results? For wrinkle Botox, results typically appear within 1–2 weeks. For body Botox (jaw, calves, trapezius), expect to see results after 3–4 weeks.

Question 5

Skin Boosters & Skin Botox

I have small bumps (embossing) on my face after treatment. When will they go away? The embossing effect is completely normal and typically fades within 2–3 days, though it may take up to one week in some cases. It will resolve on its own. How should I care for my skin after treatment? Apply a generous amount of moisturiser to soothe the skin. Whenever you go outside, always wear sunscreen (SPF) to protect the treated area.

Lifting

My face looks uneven after a thread lift. Is this normal? Yes, this is a normal part of the recovery process. Mild unevenness, a sensation of tightness, or a feeling of something under the skin may persist for 1–3 weeks and will gradually improve. Should I apply a cold or warm compress after a thread lift? Apply a cold compress for the first 3 days only. After that, discontinue cold compresses to support the healing process. Are there any precautions for daily life? For one month after treatment, avoid opening your mouth too wide or making exaggerated facial expressions. Please also complete the full course of any prescribed antibiotics as directed.
